Freehold, NJ Grand Opening LEGO Master Builder Event

 June 21-23, 2013: LEGO® opened a new store in Freehold, NJ this weekend and celebrated by building a big Hulk sculpture. Nathaniel, Zane, Durrell and Mary went to check it out and had a great time. This was our 3rd store grand opening build event, and for the third time, it was hosted by LEGO® Master Model Builder Dan. Most kids built expanded 2x4 bricks, but since we'd done it before, Dan had Nathaniel and Zane build some special sized expanded bricks. Then he offered Nathaniel and Mary the chance to volunteer with the store employees and volunteers from other LUGs (ILUGNY and GardenStLUG). Here are some pictures. We weren't able to stay until they finished, but it was an excellent experience for Nathaniel, who will be coordinating our first big build at our Carnival in September. We met some great people, who we hope to reconnect with at BrickFair VA in August!
