May 17th: Spring Carnival: Take a Spin in Nature.
ColonialLUG attended the Heritage Conservancy's Spring Carnival at the Croydon Woods Nature Preserve in Croydon Pennsylvania. ColonialLUG members organized a hands-on brick building activity and a display of some of our nature themed builds. The afternoon event also featured guided walks through the woods, food trucks, games, and other family activities!
This event was the first test of our "Japanese Dry Garden" or "Zen Garden" interactive build. We provided the public with bins of just tan 2x4 bricks and started off with some pre-built rocks and decorations on a 224x96 stud base.
After about two hours various structures had risen, collapsed, and were rebuilt!
